The camera does have this function. It does not put the date on the photo itself when printed (thankfully), but when photos are downloaded to the computer it records the date. Hope that is helpful.

There is no lag time on the shutter. It only takes a second to be ready for the next shot. Tough, compact, and great camera. Battery lasts through more than 200 photos. I have two and it is easy to load the new battery and keep on shooting. The battery charges in about an hour. I also have a car charger.

I simply remove the memory card and insert it into a generic card reader - but the camera does include the cables necessary to attach the camera to your computer and download photos.

It's very good, hours without losing power. I have only had my camera run out of battery once or twice, but it was after several hours of use.
