Since the Logitech keyboard cover is only held to the IPad by the magnetic connection, it can be easily dislodged while carrying it. If that happened, you might drop it or the IPad. I use a padded fabric Mivizu case that I carry this to work and back. This keyboard acts like a cover on one side of the iPad. It has magnetic shut off, magnetic latch and snaps away to allow the iPad to be inserted in the keyboard. You need a protective bottom cover; however even a thin bottom cover prevents the iPad from seating snuggly in the keyboard.

I find the keys to be hard but easy to compress. It really does feel like a real keyboard to me except without the key sculpting and height found on some of the better quality keyboards. The keys do protrude slightly but are flat. All-in-all this is the most useful tablet/smartphone accessory I've owned so far.
