the type of lens (focal length and aperture) will determine how much of the scene in front of you the camera takes in. wide angle lenses tend to have shorter focal lengths. the Nikon 1 wide angle lens is the 10mm 2.8f.

My understanding is that there is an adapter out there... goes for around $230 which will allow you to connect to this camera and to other Nikon Lens. A friend of mine has it, but he has the lens to the larger Nikon and wanted to keep using the same lens.
