I don't know the official answer, but the furthest I get a signal is about 30-50 (roughly guestimated) yards from the router. It's a week signal, but it's still about 30-50 yards going through three walls and a tiled floor.

might be too late to answer this but it could be the devices. I have some devices in my house that can see the 5 ghz and others that can't. MY Nexus 7 (1st gen) was not made for the 5 Ghz spectrum but my Nexus 5 sees both. All depends on how the device was made.

I'm not familiar with that printer, but if it is a wireless network printer... you can connect it to your wireless network via this router. I have a wireless network Brother that works very well through mine.

I was concerned about this as well. After researching, I found that a lot of laptop wireless cards cannot read 5ghz ( all 4 of mine could not read). My ipads and TV's did recognize and connect to the 5ghz channel though.
