While both screens have the same resolution, IPS technology resolves the issue of very limited viewing angle that can appear with non IPS displays, as well as improving color reproduction (i.e. the screen appears more vivid and closer to actual coloration). The 239 states that it has a 178 degree viewing angle, where color and shape of the image is lost even when looking at different angles. No - it's not. At least the Asus website specs don't list it as such. I don't know why that "Product Alert" thing is there. I thought that it was, from the description as well. But - It has a pretty good viewing angle range regardless. The specs from the Asus website list viewing angle as :

It does have one but be warned. If you are mounting close to a wall this one wont work. The plugs face to the back so if you plug something in you will need at least 2" of room.

I'm using the HDMI to DVI adaptor cable (so HDMI out of the MacMini to DVI input on the monitor) that came with my MacMini and the monitor wakes up from key presses or moving the mouse around, no need to use the monitor power button.
