This camera does have optical image stabilization per Imaging-Resource's review "Maximum aperture starts off at a f/3.2, and falls to f/5.8 by the tele position. Optical image stabilization is included in the design." You may have to turn it on in one of the options in the menu.

I went to England this last October and took a 16 GB flash card and it was more than enough. Bought it off Amazon. So if you really want to protect your self get two of the 16 GB. Have a great time. I really love this camera. Lots of little things to learn but for basic use it is the best. The movies are great too.

When you use the zoom while recording videos, the camera may record the sound of the zoom. Samsung's Sound Alive function helps to reduce the zoom noise without muting the sound entirely. Sound Alive can be activated from within the Shooting mode Menu by selecting Voice > Sound Alive On.
