You might order (as I did) an external charger package with two extra batteries from Amazon. It works off AC or with an adapter, in your car. The camera is very simple to use because it is as smart as you can make a small digital camera. It uses a lot of battery power, but it produces photo's of quality well beyond the ordinary discount store $150.00 digital camera. I always travel with an extra battery or two and the charger. Buy one 16 or 32gb SD card from Amazon (great prices) and you're set for a huge number of photo's. see less It comes with a battery, a battery charger (while in the camera), a wrist strap and a CD with a nifty Fujifilm Photo app for storing and editing photo's. Answer:
The battery is rechargeable. The battery recharges in the camera, it comes with the cord to do that with. It does come with a computer cord. I bought a kit with 2 extra batteries and a wall charger(charges batteries out of the camera) from amazon for less than $20.
