Have not encountered that,fortunately,did realize that it doesn't work well with low battery,and range is more like 8 feet,I suggest you contact manufacturer,sounds serious.

Unfortunately, I had to pay the return shipping, so at the end of the day, it cost me $10.00 for a defective product. To be fair, I purchased it for a gift and the problem wasn't found until after 90 days. I would just try and do an exchange if Amazon will allow it.
