However, it does not scratch off or flake like the old full Teflon. The Calphalon ceramic coated pans do not use PTFE. Please Google and make your decision based on the pros and cons. I feel very comfortable that it is not leaching into my food as long as I maintain it correctly, e.g. don’t scratch up the finish. No more than any other brand. If you use nonstick sprays they create that brownish residue that's hard to get out. These pans are a great weight and you can feel the quality just by picking them up. They live up to the Calphalon name.
