It works for a maxi dress. I just folded it several times, using the folding board that is included. This size works well for my flouncy blouses too

Yes, 5 folded blouses will easily fit. This size fits nicely into 20 inch carry-on suitcases.

I have actually got the smaller size (for women) and it would definitely fit in a backpack. I gave the medium to my boyfriend and he loves it. I’m pretty sure the medium would fit in a normal backpack too.

We would recommend the large for a suit, depending on the size. A smaller size suit may fit in a medium, though.

The folding board is plastic. It's flexible, not rigid. It's worked well for us.
