The board and pieces are smaller by about 1/3. Original board was 13" x 13" equaling in 169 square inches of area. Current board is 10" x 10" equaling in about 100 square inches. Overall I prefer the larger boards since it's more comfortable to play with but overall the pieces and construction is the same.

its different from the bigger 1 the base is white instead of grey and it the tiles are much smaller. It is really easy to carry as the box is so much smaller as well. but it is still great!
