Answer:
This is a compact camera, but not an ultracompact. It's a little thick so putting it into your jeans pocket will be a really tight fit. Coat pocket? No problem. It's about the the thickness of 3 iPhone5's stacked together if that helps.

I've heard only positive things about battery life all over the web. We may be in the clear. I too purchased the sx280 -- it was incredible to me that a major company would release a device that didn't work. The battery drains very rapidly on this model, and you can adjust settings to try to accommodate this, but with the larger LED screen and no viewfinder, I have found that it is more prudent to have an extra charged battery on hand to swap out if needed. Best screen protector for this model are the ones sold by Guarmor Shield on Amazon in a 3-pack. Best cases for this model include: Lowepro Rezo 50 Camera Bag; Lowepro Tahoe 30 Camera Pouch, and Lowepro Ridge 30 (I have the first two cases, which I purchased through Amazon). see less This camera only comes with a wrist strap, battery pack NB-6LH, and charger, as well as a *very* basic instruction manual~I would advise printing off the online instruction manual from Canon for full explanations of this cameras many functions and how to use them. Answer:
The Case Logic Medium case is a nice fit. You can buy it on Amazon. It has a nice pocket that nicely holds an extra battery or two and a few spare SDHC cards. It has a nice hook that you can clip on a belt loop or you can slip the case right over a belt. BEST news is that it is under $10.00!

Answer:
SX700 does not have GPS, it has WiFi and NFC instead. I guess the designers' idea was - if you can easily connect to your smartphone via the NFC then it would be better to use the more sophisticated GPS from your smartphone.

Answer:
Please note that any information pertaining to battery life is merely an estimate and it depends on a number of different circumstances. We did a comparison of the two cameras on snapsort and it appears that the SX700 has a significantly higher battery life (360 shots on the SX700 vs 210 shots on the SX280).
