The microfiber is not designed to be removed from the spine. Unlike other similar tools, this has been designed to ensure fibers do not fall out because they are actually tightly twisted into the metal spine ensuring it's fullness and longevity. An added benefit is that the spine is bendable increasing its potential applications.

As long you have an extension pole ( wood, aluminum) with a standard thread, the pole can be as long as you can handle the weight

not sure what an 'unger' pole is, but there is a threaded end on the handle into which you can attach a threaded broom stick

Yes, just one duster. It's very similar to the typical static dusters that have multiple strips of plastic fiber, but instead it's multiple strips of microfiber, ah, cloth or twine I guess. But it's great for the fine, powdery dust that coats everything. To clean it, I vacuum it off. Haven't had need to wash it.
