it should as long the modem from the the satellite internet provider has a WAN port on the back of the modem and is able to give out DHCP WAN IP's it should work just fine

I never turn off my router or this wifi unit and I usually don't have any problems. Maybe every 3 or 4 months I have shut the wifi and router down to reset/reboot. This Wifi unit has been very reliable for me and I use it a lot when I'm on the phone or teaching esl online
