Ive had mine since June 2016 and it's now January 2017. I wear them to work every day. I work in a hospital laboratory and I've had SO MANY shoes fall apart on me after 2 months of daily use. Maybe the manufacturing has gone down-hill, I wouldn't know- this is my first pair of Merrells, but I'm really rough on shoes and these are finally what I've been looking for. They are so much more comfortable than anything I've worn for work. Ever. My only complaint is that they are mesh and won't stop blood from getting on my feet should I spill something.... but that's not Merrell's fault :) see less Ive had mine since June 2016 and it's now January 2017. Answer:
I've never hiked a falls in these, but if I were hiking a falls I wouldn't wear these. I've found the soles to be very slippery on wet, hard surfaces, particularly smooth ones, like a wet tile floor. So if you're going to be climbing over wet rocks and such you might want to re-think your footwear.

I would suggest taken the water shoe version as it dries quickly. As another reviewer said, the waterproof version is for colder conditions (and in my experience much harder material, even more than the non mesh non waterproof version and it requires some walking in, unlike the water shoe version). Bali being so humid will not be suitable for the waterproof version, the shoe is also not high enough at the ankle to keep water between ankle and the bottom of trousers out. If your worried about walking in wet shoes I suggest you buy two pairs and rotate them, the shoes are ridiculously light so it won't weight your backpack down and pack into a small space due to the mesh material. Answer:
I do not have narrow feet but I do believe these shoes have good arch support. I purchased them primarily for a Disney trip and I did tons of walking and had long days. I thought they were very comfortable and they are still my shoe/sneaker of choice on weekends.
