Answer:
I find it very comfortable. My husband and I have very different tastes when it comes to firmness...but we both love this bed. I find it very supportive. I believe the weight limit is like 700 or 800 pounds.

Memory Foam is definitely different, as an activity surface. Takes some getting used to. Waterbeds are worse, though. That's the only thing that comes to mind, that "might" work, short of going back to an inner-spring mattress.
You're right, though. It does take some of the fun out of it and I was only using a Two inch thick mattress topper of memory foam. A whole bed made of the stuff, I can't even inagine how it would complicate matters.
I have bad knees and find it difficult on memory foam to crawl across the bed. Like you'd have to if you wanted to hang or change a picture above your bed. Hurts like the dickens! But for sleeping it's great stuff!!! see less

Answer:
On their website, Zinus says about this (and all their mattress covers): "The cover is not meant to be removed and is not washable. Please follow the care instructions on your mattress label. We recommend using a mattress protector to keep your mattress like new."

Answer:
Good Question! However, I don't know that it needs to. The "body" of the mattress is separate from the mattress pad/tempur-pedic top. This piece applies like a mattress pad; the tempur-pedic foam is sewn into the top and you put it onto the foam like a bottom, fitted sheet. You can remove this and flip the "body" of the mattress I suppose. So far, I have not needed to do this. I do turn the mattress one-quarter turn each time I change the sheets. I can see "divots" forming already after 3 months of sleeping. see less Good Question! However, I don't know that it needs to. The mattress is never the issue if you are getting hot while sleeping. Polyester does not breathe. Your mattress pad is what you should be looking at. It should be all or partially cotton in the very least. Cotton breathes and is much cooler. I am a peri menopausal female in SE Texas where we hit 86 in February...trust me, I must be cool when I go to sleep or I end up with a migraine when I wake up, or worse, hot flashes with instant sweating and that's without polyester. My sheets are 100% cotton as well. Be careful of the amazon listings saying like Egytpian bedding..key word like. They are 100% polyester, do not breathe, and cheap for a reason. Answer:
I ordered a box spring for mine because my headboard is too tall. It looked funny without. We slept on it for 3 nights without a box spring and I slept great. I'd say it's not necessary to have one.
