Say for example you're in a big sink hole and want to film from above the surface, what you can do is take off in Atti-mode, fly up to the surface carefully until your quad find enough gps satellites and then set that point as the home point in flight. That way if you do lose connection, it will come back to a point where you can then manually fly it back to you. But make sure to not lose connection until you obtain GPS lock and set your new home point otherwise it will try to fly to the last home point you set (which may be miles away) see less
