I immediately bought the banana umbrella when i got into the office. It's the same price point, dual canopy, and wider canopy coverage. It also has the open / close button.
If I were to accurately "rename" the feature, it's a fold-the-umbrella-back feature then, like most if not all foldable umbrellas, you need to undo the extended stick/shaft by gripping on 1 end and pushing the tip with your palm. As far as the experience with opening and closing it, it has been seemless.
If you press the button a second time after it is open the umbrella collapses and you have to push it together to have it re-load. It's unlikely you will have this happen accidentally because you have to press pretty firmly to engage.

I can tell you that the material is very well made and it is black...I took it out in the sun yesterday afternoon and I think it will keep the sun off you and create shade if you were sitting right out in the sun for an event or someth…
