One hint to this.... the model with AC in the name includes a wireless A/C router. The ones that are just a cable modem have CM in the model number. see less

Answer:
Super easy to set up. Nothing to it really. Just plug it all in and go. I don't have the exact detentions, but it's a little taller than an iPad mini. It's a pretty reasonable size router and if the big blinking light annoys you you can just turn that off.

Cable modems conform to the Data Over
Cable Interface Specification (DOCSIS) at
some revision level. The revision level corresponds to the data transfer protocol the modem can receive and the maximum download and upload speed.
The revisions and download speeds you are likely to see in product pitches are:
2.0 - 40 million bits per second (mbps)
3.0 - 1.2 giga bits per second (Gbps)
3.1 - 10 Gps

Note those are maximum speeds. A 3.0-compatible chip could be limited to less than 1.2 Gbps by its internal clock speed to any of of the speeds listed. Since faster chips are typically newer and more expensive it makes sense to pick the speed and cost for your particular situation. In practice you need to pick a model compatible with the plan you purchased from your cable provider. If you are in doubt, contact your provider for help in selecting the right modem. see less
