Yes, it will work with your GoPro. However, I would recommend something like the SanDisk Extreme Plus or something similar, as it has a much higher transfer rate, especially if you are recording in 4K 60FPS.

If your micro sd card comes with an adapter that you don't want or need, just chuck it. Or put it in a drawer and forget about it. The adapter is just for reading the card in a larger card slot. It's not needed if you have a micro sd slot.

Because the file system of the card which is the same as every card used in a GoPro is a fat32 filesystem. The largest single file size in that system is about 4gb and since 4k videos take a much larger filesize they will be split. You can combine these clips in software such as Davinci Resolve

It should, if it doesn't do so right out of the box then the phone will more than likely have a fireware updated that will allow it to use the card.
