No, But it is very simple with easy instructions. I am on my 2nd batch and so far so good. You may want a "Wine Kit" with the juice, instructions, and chemicals for your first try.

Answer:
Fruit or juice, water, yeast, and sugar. You also need a type of equipment sanitizer. Read up on wine making and different recipes. I don’t deal with wine kits and use fresh fruits or fruit juices. It’s rather simple. Keep it clean and rack wines with fruit to produce clear wines.

Answer:
The plastic is very high end BPA free and all that jazz, it's restaurant quality stuff. I love the plastic ones, cuz I drilled a hole in the bottom and installed a wine spigot, which makes bottling a breeze! No more wine theif and cane tubing to deal with, filling bottles is a breeze. No more mess!
