Push down like you would child proof pill bottle it’ll then see that clear seal in place and you’ll be able to twist it off. Also make sure lil air vent is up when opening.
Sounds like you might have a vacuum inside your carafe. You didn't state which carafe, the serving or brewing. If the brewing, then opening the orange tab in the lid should break any vacuum seal. This shrinks the air inside the bottle causing a vacuum. Sometimes you really need to use a lot of force to get it loose.

As the ad description states.... 32 ounces. Then you drop it into the insulated bottle after 12-24 hours. You can immediately start the next batch. Both can stay together in the fridge.
I've added fresh ground spices. Coconut flakes would work. Whats the worst that happens? I would add them in the middle or on the top so they dont clog the bottom of the filter when it drains.
