Product comes with new higher density flash memory. Samsung should release 2TB version as soon as they maintain mass production of 512 bit density flash. Early predictions are that it should come in April.

The read speeds are 100 MBps faster and the write speeds are 800 MBps faster. Also higher IOPS but that's not quite as important.

Yes and no. If you put the new 970 in a USB enclosure, the Magician software will not recognize the new drive as a Samsung model and it will refuse to clone. Very useless software. Those are names/designations for the different m.2 slots on your mobo, this should work in any m.2 slot, but it’s always good to Check the manual if it’s available, because some may have higher priority than the others as with, the regular sata ports on my particular mobo

Looks like a fit, but if your booting from the SSD now, you may have to reinstall windows from USB, or come up with an adapter to run both so you can clone one to the other ( and increase the partition size to use all of the new space ). Would be a bit faster too.
