I've not fully washed them with soap cause I don't want to worry about my food having a soap taste. I just wipe them down with a slightly damp cloth, and it seems to work.

The material is plastic. We have used it many times and it has held up fine. It works well. Pack the rice fairly tight before using so you get the full length of the bazooka.

A fairly simple piece of plastic, the device opens up like a clamshell and you load it up with rice (tip: Have a cup of water nearby to dip your fingers in and keep the rice from sticking to your hands), avocado, sushi-grade salmon, or whatever else your heart desires
