I would say this keyboard is NOT silent. The keyboard I used this to replace was/is an old HP low-profile keyboard that had totally silent membrane keys. I would say this keyboard is NOT silent. The keyboard I used this to replace was/is an old HP low-profile keyboard that had totally silent membrane keys. This keyboard has good feedback feel, but it does make a "clacking" noise which some people may not like or tolerate. It's not as loud as some keyboards I've used in the past, that were totally mechanical switches.
