1. What happened to Amazon Giveaway?
We constantly evaluate our programs, such as Amazon Giveaway, to ensure we are always improving the customer experience on Amazon.
2. Are there any significant tax rules I should be aware of?
If you provide prizes over $600, winners will be required to provide their tax information before receiving the prize. This allows Amazon to fulfill necessary tax reporting obligations. If a winner does not supply valid tax information, the prize will not awarded and will either be returned to the prize pool, or returned and refunded if the giveaway has ended.
3. Where can I find out how my giveaway performed?
Individual giveaway performance can seen by visiting the "Orders" tab on Amazon.com and clicking on the “View/Manage Giveaways” button to view the dashboard.
4. Will the data from my giveaway still be available on the dashboard?
You will still be able to access the dashboard containing your giveaway data. Go to the "Orders" tab on Amazon.com and click on the “View/Manage Giveaways” button to view the dashboard.
1. How do I know if I have won?
Giveaway winners are determined in two ways, via either random instant win or random drawing. For instant win, immediately after tapping the box you will find out if you are a potential winner. Random drawing giveaways require you to enter for a chance to win and then potential winners will be notified once the entry period has ended. Random drawing giveaways can have entry periods from 1 day to 30 days. Once you have been notified as a potential winner, you then need to confirm an eligible shipping address, and potentially provide tax identity information, in the time indicated to claim your prize. You will receive a confirmation email once your prize is claimed.
2. What is an eligible address?
In order to claim their prize, winners need to confirm a shipping address in the 50 U.S. states or District of Columbia. This must be a street address and excludes P.O. Box addresses or Amazon Locker delivery. If the value of all prizes in the giveaway exceeds $500 then addresses in Rhode Island are not eligible.
3. Will I be asked for my Social Security number?
If your total winnings are $600 or more, you will be asked to provide your tax information to Amazon for tax reporting purposes. Your information will be verified with the IRS via Amazon's secure system and verification will only need to be completed once per customer. This information is not shared with hosts. You will need to complete this in the time indicated to claim your prize, otherwise the prize will be forfeited.
If your total winnings exceed $600, you will receive at 1099 form by January 31st.
4. Who will send my prize and how long will it take to receive it?
For non-digital prizes, Amazon will ship your prize directly to you. It will be sent by either Standard Shipping or FREE Shipping. You can find general shipping information here. You will not receive specific tracking information for this package. Digital prizes will be added directly to your Amazon account.
5. What do I do if I won a prize but it was damaged when it arrived or it never arrived?
Contact Amazon Customer Service and have your prize confirmation email handy. They will help you get a replacement. Do not contact the host.
6. Can I return or exchange my prizes?
No, all prizes are final. If you do not want it, we suggest giving it to someone else who would enjoy it.
