This had enough pressure to overcome the CO2 pressure of a carbonation T and force the fluid back up the wrong way.
(the pump requires 12 volts)
I have a bar and a bunch of freeloader friends that never pay for my beer.
So, I took out the beer tap and replaced it with a Fruit Punch tap.
I use this pump, hooked up to a fuse and an ON/OFF switch (HIGHLY RECOMMENDED)
This pump uses air line pressure to turn on.
Simple - When I open my tap to get my fruit punch (I mix Poland spring water with 16 packages of mix in a gutted out 7.75 gallon keg) the pump detects a loss of pressure in the line and turn on.
This set up is a similar setup in RV's and Boats on a 12volt system.
This pump I ordered with the correct voltage and amps, and I have an inline fuse then the shut off switch.
It is installed inside my kegerator and mounted to the wall.
The reason for the on/off switch is my thoughts is that if a line pops under pressure I wont have fruit punch everywhere if it OFF.
Trust me on this. I ordered this in June, and over the course of 4 months using a rubber 3/8 water line, the slight pressure made a bubble on the side closest to the pump exit, so I am using a braided hose.. That works great now. Peace of mind.
Fast forward to today. 9 months later.
The pump for some reason is staying on. (See Video) and it is getting hot with just a minute of use.
It is inside a cold fridge, there is no way this should be so hot to the touch like it is.
There are no air leaks in the lines or you would see red fruit punch everywhere (there is some frozen as you can see form the old hose mishap) so why is it staying on?
Its a good thing I installed the off switch.
Now I need to see about a replacement or warranty.
In the video I have the switch on, pouring fruit punch into a jug, then I stop the tap and you can hear the tone of the pump change, but it still stays on even though I have the tap off.
UPDATE: Pump just stopped working.. I got about 1 year and a half out of it..
I turn the power switch on and I can hear a faint humming when on. When I turn it off the hum stops.
