So far so good and if I remember correctly because we did not get our heat surge fire place going last year, I want to say that it is even more quiet that the original. you use to hear a fan going or something, now we dont hear anything. My husband installed it and said it was very easy to do. He also stated that the parts are of better quality than the original. Also, I know winter is not here yet, but we moved it from our bedroom to the livingroom (which is the draftiest room in the house) and with in a couple of hours you are dying of heat stroke lol. That fire place seriously kicks now, it was always pretty decent but not like this. It never got that hot in a confined bedroom.

Worth every penny! Haven't had to turn the furnace on yet either

I bought this fan along with a thermal disk switch for my fireplace. After wiring everything together, the fan runs fairly quiet. It moves enough air to blow heat out around the firebox, but it is not overly powerful. I believe this one moves about 75 CFM which seems sufficient. I initially wired this with a rheostat (variable speed switch). It wouldn't run well with low power due to the resitance in the switch, but it really didn't need the switch so I wired it straight. It's just the right speed full out. I used a couple of magnets to hold it in place. If you're looking for a low cost fireplace blower, this will work well.

I am hacking a DIY air filtration system. This little fan is great. It's cheap. It moves a lot of air for its size and does so relatively quietly. It's hard to imagine what more you could want. Two things - this is total DIY, it's just the bare fan and electric motor, no real housing, so figure out what you are replacing and be prepared to mount it yourself if the dimensions are correct. (If you can't figure out the dimensions of the fan you are replacing, this probably isn't the part for you.) Second thing, there is no switch or speed control. It's a bare fan & motor. So if you are hacking something together, plan accordingly.

This product is everything that the other reviews stated: It is small, quiet, and moves a good amount of air, BUT it also does something else…it STINKS. Although nothing is visibly burning or melting, there is a very burning/melting smell coming from this unit when the fireplace is on. The smell permeates the entire house, and I found it necessary to remove this unit for fear of inhaling possibly toxic fumes.

This fan is a perfect fit and very quiet. I have a free standing vent free gas fireplace that had a blower failure. I searched everywhere for this fan (Charmglow / Procom fireplace) and I could not find it for less then $120. That's when I stumbled upon this on Amazon for $15. It states for a electric fireplace but it fit perfectly and no longer do I have to hear the old blower make noise. This blower fits and looks just like the original blower highly recommend this blower.

For 10 years, I've been using my fireplace and it took a while to heat up the room. The fireplace is glass enclosed and most of the heat, 50% or higher, rises to the top to be exhausted through the duct work to the outside wall. So the room was heated with residual, radiant heat off the metal box of the fireplace unit.

I have a corner installed, Heat&Glo-6000TR gas fireplace with the exhaust duct at the topside in the middle. If you buy one and place it in the middle, at the back, the duct work will be in the way of airflow. Maybe two fans on either side of the duct work will create a better airflow to the front.

This squirrel cage fan will efficiently direct the heat out of your fireplace unit and into the room. Furthermore, it may save you $money$ with the gas bill to heat your room. This is a replacement fan, not the kit form. Additional hardware maybe required. I use pipe, foam insulation to buffer the vibration. This particular fan spins at a higher RPM and creates an audible wind noise. A slight hum is observed.

    Good Luck To All!
