Product Description

Color: Black

If you're looking for a simple starter aquarium then the biOrb CLASSIC 15 Aquarium with Moonlight is for you. You can be up and running in no time, everything you need is in one box. It really is a case of just adding water and fish. Does small mean unhealthy? Not at all, the biOrb CLASSIC 15 actually has a biological filtration system that is bigger than any other similar sized aquarium. In fact, many aquariums twice its size have less biological filtration. To maintain your biOrb CLASSIC 15 all you need to do is simply replace the filter cartridge every six weeks and change a third of the water every two weeks The biOrb CLASSIC 15 is an illuminated aquarium equipped with the popular Moonlight LED Light. The Moonlight automatically senses when your room goes dark and switches to a soothing blue glow. For your peace of mind, the light and air pump are low voltage and both are backed by a 12 month guarantee. The aquarium itself is made from acrylic which is ten times stronger than glass. All in all, a perfect starter aquarium with all the performance you'd expect from a bigger set up. Includes: 4 Gallon Acrylic Aquarium, biOrb 12V Transformer, biOrb Air Pump, Airstone, Ceramic Media (1 pound), Filter cartridge, Water Conditioner 5 ml, Beneficial Bacteria liquid 5 ml, and Moonlight LED light unit.

I have one of these (the earlier version, no moonlight) in my office on my desk. I love it! I keep one gorgeous male betta in it and he is thriving. The pump is extremely quiet. I don't worry about keeping the pump above the water level and it works just fine. The provided gravel is part of the filtration system; you can cover it with large, shiny rocks but I don't mind how it looks on its own. I really enjoy the decorations you can use in the baby biOrb; I have the small grass ring that goes over the bubble tube in the center and several bright, weighted "plants". Haven't tried the fuzzy ball decorations yet but I will when I get tired of the current set-up. My betta seems very healthy and happy. I keep the water level lower than recommended so he has plenty of surface where he can get air. This has been a very peaceful, pretty addition to my office.

I really like this tank. It's neat with an elegant look depending on the Biorb items that you use to decorate the tank with. Keep in mind, the accessories for this tank are pricey. Buy on http://Amazon.com. I paid to be a prime member, but even with free shipping, for two silk plants (1 package)was $13. I bought 4 silk plants equaling $26 and the grass ring for $13 more totaling $39 for inside decor. The ceramic media that comes with the tank is not enough, so I had to purchase a 2lb bag for an extra $10. Filters are really expensive for this item. If you change the filters like it states every 6 weeks, that's $80/year (8 filters). Which I can buy 12 large filters for my 55 gallon for $18. This tank does scratch very easily being its an acrylic tank. The scratch removal pads for the Biorb do remove the scratches and polishes the tank nicely which I also had to buy. As long as there aren't any deep scratches or gouges, it will polish and remove the scratches just fine. I wish I had the intelligent moonlight option, but that's an extra $100 to purchase, might as well buy the whole tank over again for about $70 on Amazon with that option included. Between eBay and Amazon, you can also turn your tank into a marine tank (saltwater) for another $100-$147 option. This is my 7th tank. I have a Marineland 10 gal, an aqueoun 36 gal, a topfin 55 gal, two Fluval chi's, and a 2.5 gal Aqueon. When it comes to start up cost, this little 4 gal tank incurred almost the same amount of start up cost as my 55 gallon. If you don't mind the pricey start up cost, the tank is cute and will serve you well, buy filters in bulk. You can get them for about $8/filter if you do so on Amazon or eBay

Looks great on a high coffee table and even the anti-fish husband gave it a compliment on how cool the night light looks.

Pretty low maintenance with 25% water changes weekly and fully changes one a month - it almost looks after itself its so easy. You can probably reuse the filters if you clean them and add new media.

I added a heater, skipped the biorb stones for petshop cheaper ones, I decided on real plants, a betta, some red cherry shrimp, adding a top to the bubbler and a valve which means my betta has no problems with the current & his long fins (he is a halfmoon and currently flaring right next to the air vent - the cheeky minx!).

One note for anyone buying this. Buy a valve for your pump or you may find the water siphons back into it when you switch it off - $2.00 well spent!

I transferred my betta into this tank after about a year in a much smaller (and cheaper) filtered tank and I am so happy I decided to get it. There isn't much light in my apartment so the moonlight feature stays on all the time, which is fine; but it looks especially beautiful at night. I decided not to buy biorb decorations or rocks just because I already had some and honestly they were a bit pricey for my taste anyways. This tank is also a bit expensive, but it's totally worth it. It not only looks great, but it is very functional. The filter works great and cleaning is easy. I've had the tank for about a month now and I would gladly recommend it to anyone looking to buy. I would definitely buy from Biorb again in the future.

I've been very happy with this tank but the moonlight feature was a waste. Because I keep it pretty far away from windows, the regular daylight wasn't enough to trigger the switch from moonlight to daylight. I had to keep a lamp on to keep the tank light on, which is pretty silly. There is an option for manual on/off but then you give up the moonlight... either both lights are on, or neither. If you get enough light in the room, this could work for you. But the directions caution against keeping it in direct sunlight because the curve of the tank could cause a fire.

I have an 8 gallon and a 16 gallon Biorb and I love them. I never buy the filter kits, just use new media charcoal and rinse the sponge out. The tops only drip a tiny bit when I remove them for cleaning. The Baby 4 gallon rim does NOT go high enough into the ring shaped cover and constantly dribbles down the side from condensation making mineral streaks on the outside of the tank and staining my expensive Biorb stand. I am working on a solution using air line tubing in two concentric rings within the cover on the bottom side. I think I will eventually get the dripping stopped, but if I had read the reviews I would simply have bought another trouble free 8 gallon.
