From the Author

Note to the reader
Welcome to Book 4 of the Judgement of the Six series!
(Un)bidden is Charlene's story.  Not Isabelle's.  Don't worry, though.  Isabelle's story is still on the way.  :) However, as I wrote it, I realized I needed to tell Charlene's story first so events in Isabelle's story would make more sense.

I liked this book more than book 2 and 3 and I am glad that I continued reading. I couldn't believe that Charlene is only 16 in this one and I feel like she was the wisest of them all. I also Like Thomas. As Clay I feel they both tried to win the heart of their mates, not only protect them.

Although I like this series, I love fast paced books and everything could have either been compressed in 3 books or filled with action packed scenes. I think some of details like: showering, eating , sleeping etc can be left out and filled with mystery and action. As one reader said in a comment, the author has an obsession with cooking so in the future I recommend to reduce these occurrences to once or twice per book..not every day.

I love how they tried to survive with anything they could gather. I feel that Charlene attracted everyone like a magnet into doing something different than their usual hunting and sleeping. She is strong, intelligent and she keeps her head up even though some of the werewolves didn't want her. She is not that easily swept away by Thomas and their relationship is funny and refreshing. I remember Charlene telling Emmit not to sleep in the same room with Michelle and Thomas's funny reaction to her subtle warning. Now I know why. Thomas is funny and insistent doesn't loose hope when she keeps rejecting him. Also the changes she made in the past shaped up the future, to help werewolves have a better live and survive.

I like this book because it has more action than the second and the first, but I still think that the author should stop with the cooking , cleaning and washing scenes she inserts in every chapter.

4 stars -- Hmmmm...this book both answered a bunch of questions, and left me wanting more all at the same time. I think I expected to get different things out of it, but that doesn't diminish what I did get.

I loved seeing just how completely different the werewolf community was before Charlene came along. Like, seriously people, crazy different. It was crazy intriguing to watch them resist the change, but then listen to the rather wise things that Charlene was saying. I loved seeing them find fulfillment from the human type things she had them doing.

And holy cow was it ever violent!! Like seriously, you think Gabby had it bad with all the crazy Introductions, but seeing what it was like at the beginning when they didn't even know how the claimings worked? Charlene went through a LOT!!! But I felt like all her thought processes, and the weighing of whether it was safe to stay there or find someplace else was very well thought out and realistic. Charlene was in a crazy tough position. I might not have gotten the full extent of her fear from one person, as she did from Penny...I couldn't help but wonder why people wouldn't be skeptical of Penny. Why she needed to close herself off from humans altogether. Why couldn't she just not use the ability? But I digress.

I must say that I am 100% with my blog partner Curly Carla -- Charlene's age bothered me. I did not believe one little bit that she was 15. I know some people are older than their ages, but it just did not feel authentic. And so that was weird.

I enjoyed Charlene and Thomas's long and complicated courtship. There was a lot of strange conflict since it was such a bizarre situation for both of them, but we did get to some great sweet moments.

This book takes us into the past, it’s almost like a prequel. Charlenes story is a little weird because her powers are still kind of…. I mean, we know what her powers are but the usefulness remains to be seen within the six. Its my understanding that nobody really knows the full extent of her powers yet. Except for her.

This one starts the beginning of the cycle, she is the youngest of the six at the time of their claiming, which kinda pisses me off shes only 15 in the book. I remember being 15 and I just don’t get how emotionally mature she is. She shouldn’t be at that age and I had a real hard time believing her age. So, I do what I do and pretended she was in her mid twenties. That consistency with the age versus the maturity in the writing was off. I gotta give it to Charlene though because even in the face of a whole bunch of agressive males, she holds her own. She is attacked near constantly, there is a lot more internal strife in this book as oppossed to the others.

The cool thing about this book is it tells you how they came to be more civilized. Before Charlene they were living in the forest and didn’t work together as a pack or socialize with the humans at all. You get a glimpse of the evolution of their species between Charlenes times and the others.

Thomas can see what Charlene is pushing them towards and he is a driving force behind their change toward the future. He sees the potential in them working together. That right there what kind of a leader that he eventually will become.

I like Nany Wini and Grey. And I’m kind of upset because Jim is still my favorite who’s unclaimed so far. I really wanted him to get someone in the end. I hope he gets his HEA.
