I really had great hopes for this product, but began to have my doubts when I tested it out with my uncooked turkey before roasting it. There was really no way to lift the turkey without it sliding off, no matter how I positioned it -- and the turkey was relatively small (15 lbs.). I thought maybe since the turkey would be less "slick" once it was baked this lifter might work, but no. I had even waited the suggested 10 minutes before lifting. Luckily I had also put my traditional home-made lifter out of kitchen twine under this new lifter, other wise I would never have gotten the bird out of the roasting pan. Washed nicely though...:-(
