I have one of these 208 cd binders, and have found it to be about adequate. I haven't experienced any problem of breakage with mine - in fact, the plastic pins seem quite resistant to all attempts to dislodge them. However, the general construction seems flimsy: the outer zip case is a separate piece from the actual sleeve & binder, which is thin vinyl that slips into the 'jacket'. Also, there is no handle, which I find to be a plus on other binders I own. I find the sleeves to be very tight for 8 cds, and even a bit snug for just 4 cds with 4 liner notes. Plus the design has an extra flap of plastic at the top that I think tends to scratch the back of the disc as it is pulled out or pushed in.

My biggest complaint, though, is that it just doesn't work for my collection. The 3 ring constructed binders work so much better for me - my collection is growing fast and I'm very organized, so the fixed order pages mean lots of shuffling backwards as new things are added. I finally decided to use this one just for software, because I don't acquire as much of that or need it in any kind of order. In short, I use it for something because I have it, but I wouldn't buy it again.

I bought this particular binder through NothingButSoftware here on Amazon because it looked like others I already have and specifically because there was a review here indicating this model did NOT have a handle.

The ones I received did indeed have handles, but otherwise match the ones I'd bought previously. I suppose they're fine for what they are, but I'm disappointed -- not sure whether to be bummed that someone wrote an inaccurate review or that NothingButSoftware is pulling a fast one on me. But I'm bummed nonetheless.

Go ahead and buy these if you like the faux-plether texture (I do), and specifically if you want ones with handles on the binder (I don't). I'll be returning these 2 shortly, or selling them on Pricegrabber Storefronts or something...

So, I bought one of these around 2001 and bought another 3 years later, and I'm now coming back to purchase my third. It has a solid, easy to hold rubber handle with a very well constructed external pocket - Large enough to hold all the CD Liners, game instructions, software keys as well as one 3 1/2" Hard drive for several years without showing any serious wear. Internally it has a mesh pocket for more frequently accessed documents associated with CDs/DVDs. I haven't had any breakage to any of my pages, and they have, what appears to be, a very well constructed surface for sliding in DVDs and CDs. Five years in, and with sometimes north of 15-20 insertions, I haven't experienced any damage to either the DVDs _or_ to the backing layer. 208 DVDs is pretty much the exact size I'm looking for - Basically it's the perfect DVD case - there is nothing else I would ask for.
