Dear Loretta: Yes, it give you your current pace, and if you want, you can configure it to give you the pace of the last km or mile, and the total pace of the last training or race. Sometimes when you run between tall buildings, the watch lost the gps signal, but it recover automatic. It's a great running watch!!

and average if you set it up to show you.
Also average per intervals if you set up an interval.
I love the watch. It is not complicated to me. I have had no problems with it and I like the big face on it even though I have small wrists.

The 310 has a lot of options for pace. I'm a data junky and engineer and I don't use all the different options. You can get current speed/pace, but especially when running this will fluctuate a lot so you may want to go with last-lap pace or another option so the numbers don't bounce around. Either way, this device has a lot of info so you can start smart and finish strong.
