We had a D60 and I used the lens from that and it was fine, but I still decided to get the camera with a lens so we could sell the old one. We also had a 80-210 lens that we had for the old camera and it works fine. We have also used a lens from our old film F Nikon and other than a slightly different format, you lose the sides of the picture, it worked fine.
