First, let me offer the following personal research before I rave about the cros cayman/classic. In my opinion Amazon.com is the best place to shop and to read reviews prior to purchasing, particularly when looking for the 'cons' in a particular product. I have found that my negative feedback about a particular style croc did not get published on the croc website, and I think that is grossly unfair to the consumer. That implies to me that they are more interested in selling their product than listening to consumer complaints and thus modifying or correcting/improving their product. What you may or may not know is that crocs are manufactured in several different countries including Italy, Mexico, Canada, and here in the US, and that sizes and material used between styles vary greatly.I have done a great deal of research about children's footwear, and unanimously pediatricians say "barefoot is best" because the bones in children's feet are soft and growing until they are 13, if I remember correctly. However, footwear is necessary to protect feet from the elements or from injury. When shopping for crocs or any other shoe for our granddaughter, the very first thing I do is to pick up the shoe and try to flex the sole. If it is 'stiff as a board' it will impact the way your child walks. I have personally tested this with our granddaughter, and this is what I found: With a soft, flexible sole she can walk normally in a striding motion, exercising the foot and leg, which is critical to muscle development in the foot and leg. With a hard, inflexible sole, she didn't walk normally--rather she picked up her feet and set them down in a 'clomping' gait. Not good. You won't go wrong with the crocs Cayman/Classic, imo.Read more ›

This is the second pair of Crocs purchased for my daughter in the Neon Magenta color. Purchase of a size 4-5 was made to replace the first pair, a size 2-3, which she had outgrown. The first pair fit great and was of good quality. The second pair, purchased here, was made of a different material, is much wider, attracts dirt and debris like crazy, is thinner all around and the strap is so short that the heel end of the sole will always stick out without part of her foot landing on it. I think my daughter feels the difference too, as she takes the new ones off and refuses to wear them now.

I recently bought two pairs of Croc through Amazon -- one for my teenage son (Adult Classic Clog -- made in Mexico) and another for my daughter (Kids Classic Clog, this product -- made in China). Both were manufactured by Crocs.

I'm not sure if Crocs has two separate facilities -- one in Mexico and one in China -- but the Croc manufactured in China reeks of a horrible chemical smell (a cross between formaldehyde and petroleum). The smell is horrible -- the kind of stench that causes headaches. Clearly, something is amiss in Croc's Chinese manufacturing facility.

Unfortunately, since Amazon doesn't note the country of origin on these products, the consumer is unable to tell until the product arrives. My daughter's previous pair of Kids Crocs (manufactured in Mexico) didn't smell.

This is at least the third set of Crocs purchased for my each of my sons. These are the first to cause blisters. The button on the inside of each foot has caused blisters on both feet of both of my sons. Upon examining the older Crocs (being replaced because they are worn out, not outgrown), the strap attachment button definitely sticks out farther on both new pairs versus the older pairs. This feature on the old pairs appears to be recessed, probably due to a tighter clamping force during manufacturing. This change in manufacturing appears to be the root cause of the blisters. This change appears on both the size C10/11 and C8/9 pairs that I purchased.

As long as the attachment button protrudes from the inside of the shoe, I cannot recommend purchasing this product.

My 20 month old son is on his third pair of these... The 6-7 is just about too tight so I ordered the next size up, 8-9, and the size difference is HUGE! He will not be able to wear them until probably next year! Ive attached a couple pictures to show the size difference. From 4-5 to 6-7 was the perfect transition, but from 6-7 to 8-9 is MUCH bigger!!

I've purchased many pairs of Crocs over the years but the quality has severely diminished over the past few years. I'm not sure exactly what has changed in the manufacturing but a pair of crocs used to last my daughter a couple of years. At the end of May, the back strap broke on a pair so I bought a new pair through Amazon. She wore them TWICE when one of the straps broke off the back. We decided to do "surgery" and took a back strap off an old pair to replace the broken one. I wish we had simply returned them at the time but she liked them so we didn't. Now, the other strap has broken off the back. Please note that the strap off of the older pair is still intact and going strong. You can actually FEEL the difference in thickness between the old and new. It's really sad because my daughter and most of her friends love them but I will not spend $32 on a pair of shoes that breaks immediately. And of course, I can't return to Amazon. Hopefully, I'm not the only one that's complained (I also complained directly to Crocs) and the quality will improve again but for now, we've purchased our last pair of crocs. And our last pair of shoes from Amazon, PERIOD, due to the return policy.
