…I have several SmallRig products in my arsenal for which I use as a bridge between my many cameras and the associated accessories.... I tested out a variety of cameras on this including; a Sony A7s(pictured), Canon T3i, BlackMagic Micro Cinema camera, etc.…Not that I would ordinarily mount such a large heavy camera on this, but for a test, it was nice to see that it can handle the weight. This tripod is perfectly suited for medium to full sized mirrorless and DSLR cameras, as well as medium sized camcorders.…It is nice to see that one can pull and rotate the two locking knobs for clearance so the plate and camera do not come in contact to the knobs.…

this is one of the best gear purchases I've ever made. sturdy enough to support a 4x5 cambo view camera even.

This is absolutely perfect height for my predator call to keep it out of the snow. The legs can be set to a certain angle and then folded back up and retain that spot the next time you open it. Very well made. I couldn’t be happier!

Excellent design, durability and fantastic price point!

…I have several SmallRig products in my arsenal for which I use as a bridge between my many cameras and the associated accessories.... This tripod is perfectly suited for medium to full sized mirrorless and DSLR cameras, as well as medium sized camcorders.…It is nice to see that one can pull and rotate the two locking knobs for clearance so the plate and camera do not come in contact to the knobs.…

True Vertical Mobility

…The tripod from SmallRig has the great metal build quality, a quick release plate, and the level on the knob makes it easy to make sure your camera is straight and well, level.…

Durable mini tripod that works great

…It''s sturdy enough to hold my 1 DX with a 24-70mm lens, at any angle, as long as I have one of the legs facing towards the bulk of the weight of the camera.

What is the maxium weight this tripod can hold?

I cannot answer for all cameras but I have a Nikon D300s plus either a macro with a magnifier or an 18-200mm zoom (approx. 3lb. 8oz.) and by setting the tripod up with one leg in front, even with the lens above, it does not tip over. If you set it up with both legs in front and the 3rd leg behind, it will tip over.

Very Stable

Because the stand is made of aluminum and not plastic it holds my heavy DSLR camera straight and stable.

Great!

…Sometimes a fixed vantage, sometimes with the camera doing a slow pan or tilt. …Without the gimbal, this tripod supports my camera and lenses very well even on less than good ground.…

Possibly the best mini tripod for Vloggers and YouTube Film Makers

…The ball head is strong enough to hold my Sony a7iii and 16-35mm F2.8 and Rode Mic.I can also point the camera directly up which is great for some shots.…

A fantastic mini tripod!!

…It is rated to hold up to 17 lbs and that is insane for such a small tripod yet I would not hesitate putting a full cinema camera on it.…

Incredibly sturdy travel tripod!

…I've used so many similar devices where the adjustment knobs would block the camera or other accessories and you'd have to use a tiny Allen wrench to unscrew the entire knob and reposition it.…Not really necessary if your camera has a level, but still a nice touch.... I love the current size, but if I had one recommendation it would be that Smallrig make another version that is slightly bigger and has an adjustable (or perhaps removable) rod in the center so you could raise the camera up.…

High Quality Camera/monitor adjustable stand

…I would recommend this amazing high quality product to anyone looking for A Camera/monitor adjustable stand.

Nice little tripod with Arca Swiss style mount

…I love that the camera mount is an Acra Swiss style mount.

Neewer Mini Ball-Head Tripod Rocks! Makes Quality Desktop Photos a Snap.

…Solid as a rock (no camera sway or wobble).... 4) The quick release makes swapping cameras a snap.... The camera and upgraded software are incredibly good, even in darker settings (using Google's Night Sight setting). Add an [ASIN:B01AYY840Y Aukey Ora iPhone Camera Lens, 0.45x 120° Wide Angle + 15x Macro Clip-on iPhone Lens for iPhone, Samsung, Google Smartphones]] and you have a powerhouse setup for tight closeups and cinematic wide angle shots.... I assure you, this micro-tripod is as good as it gets for prosumer camera work.…

Nice and Sturdy Tiny Tripod

…It’s small and compact and fits into my camera bag perfectly for on the go days.… I use this for my Sony A6500 mirrorless camera.

Balances my Nikon D7500 in many positions!

I bought this tripod for an upcoming trip to Jasper National Park and wanted to be able to fit it into my luggage, but also be able to balance with my heavy D7500 Nikon camera.…I especially like the thumbscrew to attach the camera, as it has a little handle along with the slot.… I’ve added some additional photos showing the size differences of other tripods and how big it is compared to my camera.…

Impressive stone-like mini tripod

…It is very powerful and can accommodate my full-size digital SLR camera, as well making it ideal for use with any mobile phone.…

Good sturdy portable tripod. Not “the world’s greatest” but i’m Happy

I sometimes forget my tripod, so I wanted a good, tiny unitcthat would fit in my cameras backpack.…

Small , strong , stable with heavy cameras

…If you have lighter camera , the other smaller tripod may work as well.

Perfect height

This tripod is the perfect height for putting my mirrorless camera at face level for streaming.…

Handy little desk top tripod.

…Was very useful for macro and camera set (working through the menus to set up comm with cell phone for remote operation, etc.). Ball head seems to work fine with camera and 100mm macro lens.…

Great little tripod

…It is easy to use, quick to expand and has a quick-connect base that you attach to the camera for mounting on the tripod.

Looking for a tripod to do bird and wildlife photography from a kayak. Anyone have any thoughts on this one?

Jack I haven't had mine long enough to give it a full workout but here are a few observations. I like it for its size. It fits in my camera bag. Great for limited space. The aluminum is of adequate gauge to feel sturdy. The legs spread at several angles with rubber feet for good stability, a plus on a moving platform as a kayak. Not expensive. Not sure what camera you use but, the platform adjustment is a ball with one socket tightener. Not sure how much torque it can take if you are using a large camera and lens. Good luck and have fun.

Unsurprisingly Awesome

…This tripod holds a surprising amount of weight not that my camera is that heavy but when i have my canon sl2, 10-18mm lens with an nd filter, rode videomic pro+, and a video light on my top handle that has decent weight to it the ball head does not flinch or seem like its going to topple over.…

First impressions

…I did mount a very heavy lense, macro focusing rail and camera to it.…

One tough, useful piece of work.

I bought this to hold the camera and another to hold a voice recorder for my online classes.…

Optimized for supporting heavy weights at low heights

I bought this because I needed a tabletop tripod that could hold my podcasting camera while offering lots of adjustability.…

Very versatile and light weight tripod.

…Also doubles as a camera stick.…

Almost perfect

…It folds small enough (particularly if you remove the column and ball head and flip it around) to fit in most lens-sized pockets in a camera bag, is solidly built, extends tall enough to be used for almost any shooting scenario, is stable...…This needs a bit of work to secure any camera of appreciable weight.…It's easily bumped off-axis while simply adjusting camera settings or, if the tripod is on any slope and the column not vertical, the column will rotate fairly readily.… If you are using a smaller, lighter weight camera than the A7rIII and don’t mind the proprietary plate system, then this is a perfect and solid solution for travel.

extremely sturdy

this is one of the best gear purchases I've ever made. sturdy enough to support a 4x5 cambo view camera even.

The perfect desk top recorder for professionals

I use it to record sessions.. it is stable, folds and unfolds easily.. is adjustable and works great with almost any camera..…

Sturdy little stand

For a camera or desktop microphone, this will get the job done. …If you need to point a camera towards the ceiling or the floor, then this is not the tripod for you. …I'll still keep it around because the combination 4/20 and 3/8 screw mount is versatile enough that I can put cameras or microphones (with 3/8 to 5/8 adapter) on it and they'll be in good hands with the sturdiness of this little guy.

Is it possible to attach a ballhead to this tripod in order to shoot vertically?

I'm not sure what a ballhead is but I have attached different cameras and mounts to it.

Is this go pro compatible?

It’s a standard size that fits any camera so a go pro should be just fine

awesome little pod

I use this little pod for two purposes...... camera, very stable I really like that I can get up close for the macro shots and throw it on the hood of the jeep for the landscape shots....... holds a Canon T3i with battery grip and a 75-300 lens no worries.....…

Good build quality very sturdy looks and feels really professional

…Other then that it’s great I’ll use it in tight spots where I can’t hold the camera it’s definitely a great addition to my arsenal.

I purchased this to use with my Edelkrone slider for ...

…It holds the entire setup (slider, motion & target modules, lens, camera) very well.

Does this work with a canon 6D full frame?

Thank you for your question, this tripod works with all cameras with universal 1/4 screw hole

Will this hold a Canon Rebel with 300mm lens?

I use this little tripod for both my Canon Rebel and 80D, both with 300mm lens at times. The ball head allows for nice movement, but just keep in mind that if the camera is tilted down, it puts a lot of weight on the front and could make the tripod tilt over forward. You just need to be aware of where the tripod is placed and how far you tilt your camera. I love this tripod!

More than camera uses!

This is absolutely perfect height for my predator call to keep it out of the snow. The legs can be set to a certain angle and then folded back up and retain that spot the next time you open it. Very well made. I couldn’t be happier!

Five Stars

Worked great for my Nikon camera.

STURDY, VERSATILE TRIPOD

Liked the ease of use and capability of positioning camera low on table.

RJT
Can I use it with my Hammacher digital camera binocular?

It works with my spotting scope It works with my range finder As long as it has the standard camera or spotting scope thread you should be ok It is a great stand for a table, desk And the legs go way out, if you need them on the ground

Will this tripod work with canon eos rebel t6?

I can't see why not. It's a great little tripod and my cameras are all Canon.

Love everything about this tripod.

This small tripod gives me the perfect height, but it does well with any digital camera.…

Compact mini tripod

…I have tried it with my mobile phone and my DSLR camera, the tilt and the pan are great. Although it is not heavy in itself, it is enough for me to feel confident about putting the camera on it.

perfect size

…I do a lot of marco shots and this was the perfect match for my camera as far as size and stability.

Does it work with nikon dslr 5300?

It should work with any camera that has a standard threaded tripod mount. It works fine with my Nikon D3100.

will it work with point and shoot olympus tg5

should work GREAT with such a camera! I have used it with my Lumix point and shoot AND my Nikon DSLR with a 18-200mm zoom (5 pounds). I love this tripod for both.
