I think the product works very well I will continue to purchase it as my dog has dibeaties.…
Being a newly diagnosed dog parent this tool has really been helpful and accurate. It uses very little blood and my dog doesn't mind me using it and it reads the results very promptly..
The product worked well in keeping up with my dog's glucose.
We use them on our Cat, however, the electronic device has to be calibrated for a cat or a dog for them to work.
Yes it's 38 as shown on the bottle. 36 for dogs.
animaleyecare.net, check out websites and blogs about dog or cat diabetes and eye care. They're very helpful when trying to make decisions to help our cats and dogs. My cat is in remission from diabetes for five months. I don't feed him dry food anymore. Too sugary. He only gets canned.
I can't see the test strip you're referring to as each vial will come with different dog and cat codes. That being said, ironically, our current vial actually says "Code Dog 36.. Code Cat 38" so if this is what your vial says, I'd say yes this is the code for a cat. You merely recode your AlphaTRAK meter each time you open a new vial. We are using our second set of test strips which are the one stated above. I believe that our previous dog code was 21 and I don't remember what the cat code was on that vial. We've ordered and received a new vial of strips that's still unopened. I fully expect that one to have different codes that we'll need to reset on the meter. Hopefully, this message will answer your question.
My dog has calluses on her elbows which I use since it doesn't seem to bother her. I've never heard of using gums. I would think that would be painful. Here's a video on YouTube showing how to use the Alpha Trak 2 that my vet showed me. It's really helpful. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kRPP8__OiFY
Yes this meter is for any size dog or cat. I use it on my 5lb dog everyday.
I only saw a code for dogs and one for cats.
Sorry, I use it on a dog but I was told that it can be used on the paw, the inner ear and the inner lip.
Im sorry Kairle. I do not know. by the time my order had arrived my dog had passed away. I wish I had a better answer. I know my vet recommended them highly. Also the customer service department was extremely helpful.
…In testing these with the [[ASIN:B00WM2FQTO Advocate Pet Test Blood Glucose Monitoring System for Dogs/Cats PT-100]] against my [[ASIN:B007Z0XULY AlphaTRAK 2 Blood Glucose Monitoring System Kit]], the results are similar.…
There are loads of youtube videos about this subject, including demos from the manufacturer. Search for blood glucose testing for dogs. For some dogs & owners, the process is pretty easy. But pls be patient. It may take time for you & your dog to learn this skill. I wish you the best.
Yes they do also comes with solution to calibrate it as long as you have it set on 36 for dogs works really well
Yes. This is definitely the AlphaTrack2. If you zoom in on the image shown in the ad you can actually see the 2 on the box and I can tell you without question you will receive the item as described. It works very well for dogs.
great for beginners, easy to follow instructions. recommend it to anyone who has to test blood sugar in dog or cat regularly. save a lot on vet bill by doing it yourself. test numbers more accurate when animal is tested at home because they are less stressed.
I do it on the elbow for my dog. I get more blood from there then from the ear or paws.
You can use different lancets. I find the 26 gauge from CVS or anywhere else work better than the 21 gauge that come in a he kit when using on a daily basis. The 21 is larger and seems to cause a little more pain. I stick my dog on the inside of his lips so your results may be different. The kit comes with the meter, 25 strips, and around 25 lancets in 2 styles. The pen and 5 or so of a snap type. We don't use the pen, just the lancet by hand. I made several tests after using the Alpha Trak for years and found this one to be very close in readings. Hope this helps.
ONLY a drop of blood and I mean a lil drop of blood.. and it comes back in 3 secs.. faster then any machine i worked with.. my dogs is a big baby.. and she is good with getting her paw pricked.. i would recommend this one to any dog. and the price isn't bad either.
Each box will have the codes to calibrate your meter for either dogs or cats.
