Have had this mat for a week and love it. I have only used at for 10-20 minutes in duration each session with a T shirt on. I will work up to bare skin. It seems intense at first, but then the body response is to relax and it feels really good (warmth sensation). I find it very relaxing. I roll a towel up and put the mat over the rolled towel and under my neck and base of the skull. I have chronically tight shoulders, upper back and traps and I hoping with consistent use the mat will help correct this issue. (without having to pay for massages every week). I also come from the background of loving acupuncture sessions and I am very aware of all the benefits of that, so hoping this will mimic that type of therapy at bit. I have also stood on the mat with bare feet. It is quite intense, but with socks on I could not feel it that much (maybe I should try thinner socks!). I do last 1-2 minutes standing on the mat before I need to step off to take a break and then I hop back on. I do like how it feels on my feet as I know it is engaging some get pressure points on the bottom of my feet. I do set a timer while using since I have read that people fall asleep while on the mat for hours, which is not recommended.
Bulletproof needs to come up with a neck roll and/or a smaller size mat to put on other areas of the body at one time. Also a carry bag would be a nice addition as well.
I was skeptical of this but wanted to try it. It absolutely works. It is counterintuitive that reclining on a "bed of nails" would relax you for sleep, but it does. It also seems like it will last forever, so the bang for the buck is great.
I follow bulletproof and generally feel it's a solid company that has found solutions for a healthier living. This mat is an exception. I've used it in various times in my life and it has never induced sleep. It's uncomfortable and should be used with at least one to two layers on. I've even used it with thin layers like a tank top to get more of the induction point contact but that didn't make a difference. It's sadly taking up space in my workout space.
Haven't slept this great in years. I fell asleep on it at first so now I put the timer on thru my phone and put the phone next to me. It works and I use it at least weekly. , I sleep great (but I do not have too much trouble with my sleeping) and especially those nights when I come home wound up from work, I lay on this and within a few minutes I'm ready to get into bed for a restful night's sleep.
