Very nice appearance: beveled doors, and the clean, semi-gloss white brightens up my kitchen. The cabinet is sturdy, and roomier than I thought it would be. Although I didn't find it necessary, I liked that the materials are already included in case the purchaser wishes to anchor the cabinet to the wall against which it will stand.
I'm a little old lady, and was apprehensive about assembling it by myself, but the instructions were clear with every step illustrated, and it went together quickly and tightly. The only difficulty I had was getting the package from the front porch into the kitchen: it was around seven feet long, and VERY HEAVY, partly because it was so well protected from potential damage in transit. I had the help of a small dolly, but a couple of healthy grandsons would have been nice, too.
The only problem I had was the cabinet topper. It was my mistake of putting the two thin boards on the back side. I was thinking the boards were white on both sides putting them in on the outside. They were not and I had the bare wood showing on the inside and I had the back board on with nails. No problem; unscrewed with drill bit from outside and flip them in the right way, whew.
It's a miracle these get delivered without lots of damage. The storage cabinet in particular is very heavy, and mine arrived with an exploded box. But only one corner of one door was damaged. I contacted Prepac and they sent out a replacement for free immediately. The fact that nothing else was damaged was a testament to the toughness of the veneer on these and also the packaging, which was stellar. I think the veneer is made of rhino skin. One cabinet had two pretty deep dings on the edging and they didn't manage to break through it. I kept the pieces as they were because you can barely tell after the doors are put on.
Assembly is really easy. I was expecting it to be a pain like other press-board furniture, but really, it was fast and the end result is sturdy. It's hard to not get it mostly square with the assembly method they use.
I will always hate myself when buying press-board furniture, but if I have another need for it in the future, I would buy these again probably without even shopping around.
There is one slight annoyance with the wall cabinets. When you install two next to each other, you clamp them and screw them together. But the screws you used to attach the sides to the bottoms and top hit either other, so you don't get a snug line all the way up. At the very top and very bottom you get a small gap, in the middle the cabinets touch. You may be able to see it in my picture from below. This material is not really made to countersink your screws, then your screw would be resting on press-board instead of the rhino-tough veneer. For this price I don't care and wouldn't knock off a star for it, but be aware you will hit that.
Then, we bought an Elite closet. It was easy to assembly. Some pieces are heavy. It is helpful to do this with at least 2 people.
Sturdy, clean lines and I believe will sit in my garage for decades to come. The instructions seems difffcult. Don't let the pieces overwhelm you. Read the instructions first then take it one step at a time.
I am going to order another.
Hope this helps....
