As good looking and comfortable as only a Dansko can be, the Abigail Women's Shoe is perfect for all your adventures around town. The smooth leather upper sits on a slip-resistant rubber outsole to keep you upright and looking good, while the removable triple-density footbed ensures that your feet will stay comfortable even if you're on them from sunup to sundown.
Ahhhhh, Dansko. There you go again. Doing your all-day comfort thing. Making us feel so good on our feet. With excellent arch support and legendary comfort, you let us stand longer than ever. And with great styles in a range of heel heights, you have us feeling all tingly inside, just like the day we first met. When wife and husband team, Mandy Cabot and Peter Kjellerup discovered the world's most comfortable shoe in a tiny shop in Denmark in 1990, they just had to bring some home for their friends. When their friends tried them on, they told their friends. And just like that, a shoe company was born. Now Dansko not only sells their original clogs, but also heels, boots, sandals, wedges and flats too! Every style features the Dansko DNA - materials and construction carefully selected to promote good foot, leg and back health, so that you can stand better, for longer. Say goodbye to choosing between looking good and feeling good. And say hello to having it all.

Ok, so why only 4 stars if I love these shoes so much? Well, to be honest, I waited a while to post my review because I kept going back and forth between 4 or 5 stars. The shoes themselves - they probably really do qualify for a 5-star rating (can you tell I'm still undecided?). But, in the end, I decided to take off a star because of how they fit - and that's another area that I had trouble deciding on, how they fit.
From the pictures and from the reviews (so many of which said these shoes were a little tight), I had the impression that they would be more like a loafer-style shoe than a clog. Now, I love clogs, but I already have a pair of Dansko clogs and didn't really need another pair. (I'm not a shoe hog, my closest isn't filled with an endless assortment of shoes.) I bought these shoes because I thought they'd be narrow enough that I could wear a pair of thin dress socks, or perhaps even some pantyhose, with them. I was thinking they'd work with dress pants and a skirt and blouse or dress.
While these shoes are definitely not as 'clunky' as other clogs, they are still clog-like. They are too loose to wear thin dress socks or pantyhose with them.
That's the reason for the 4-star rating.
Bottom line, they are great shoes, very comfortable, the wonderful arch support you expect from Dansko - but, if you're looking at the pics and other reviews and thinking they are going to be like a pair of dress loafers and aren't going to be clog-like, you might want to look for something else in the Dansko line.
I have lovingly dubbed them my "grandma shoes," since they're not terribly fashionable, but they're slim enough to escape notice while I'm wearing a long-leg pantsuit.
If I had to choose only two pairs of shoes for the rest of my life, I'd choose these and a pair of good hiking boots.
They're good for plantar fasciitis and patellofemoral pain(from high arches collapsing and hyperextended knees). They support my high arch.
-I wear a half size and they fit well. I would prefer a wide and I'd recommend that if you have wide feet. Still they are comfy, I just sometimes get a blister on my pinky.
-these are stiff leather so wear thick socks, especially when breaking them in, otherwise you'll get blisters.
-I spray mine with the dishwashing hose every now and then -the nonslip design also traps nasty bits.
I did get a defective pair last time I bought these and the seller replaced them for me, they responded in less than 24 hours and I received the replacement pair in less than a week. If the soles start falling apart and peeling off, that's a defective pair; these are shoes that should be able to take a beating.
