Fantastic upgrade for Rock Band

I bought this drum set specifically to play Rock Band 4 pro drums. Unfortunately the Bluetooth Rock Band 4 drumset consistently dropped notes and dropped connection completely.

I'm ecstatic I found this set. It works phenomenally through the Mad Katz midi pro adapter. Since I got this drum set and the midi pro adapter I have no excuse for missed notes except that I'm playing them wrong. Everything seems to be dead on accurate.

The set is definitely sturdy for the price. I did opt to use a higher quality bass pedal and electronic bass pad I already had. The bass pedal is adequate but not great, and the bass pad is a little hard, but it is still ok.

I will say if I were only using this as a stand alone set, the drum brain and sound would be a little weak. Still, I would say for this price range (entry level), you could not expect a better set than this.

If you're looking for a very solid entry level electronic drum set, this one is very solid. If you're looking for a great upgrade for Rock Band, this set is fantastic. I love it.

I'm using my moms account to write this review, as I am the one who uses this kit, 24/7! I had already a different electric kit for a lot less money. Eventually it gave way, so we decided to get this one. I was experienced by that time, so I was looking for an upgrade because I'm more advanced now. However, it leaves you lost, it has very few good sounds. I found the best ones, so here they are. For the toms, on kit one, keep them. For the snare, use 2.4. For the Crash, use 11.3 and have volume ( L ) on 15. If you want a ride, use 12.5 and have it on ( L ) 30. For another crash, use 11.3 again, ( L ) 15, and the tone, or pitch ( P ) be 9, and let the bass drum be 1. And for a lot of people wondering, it does support double bass. I have Mapex pedals, and it works fine. Sometimes misses triggers when playing something like slipknot ( SIC ) but it's great for triplets. There is another problem, when recording, it sounds .... Not so good. It misses a lot of triggers, making it sound off time. It's almost pitiful. It's sensitive too, I broke 2 Cymbals, and one tom. And now I'm getting a replacement on Wednesday 2/25/2015 because 2 cymbals are broke again. Granted, I'm a hard hitter. Overall it's a 3, if you are advanced drummer, don'
t buy it, save your money for maybe the Alesis studio. If you're a beginner, buy this to learn the ropes.

Beginner here, not a professional by any means. Online lessons and video game fun are the extent of my experience. And for me, this set is great. Others may have the experience to complain about the sounds of this kit, however for me, for what I bought it for, it is perfect. I use this set to play Rockband 3 along with the MIDI Pro Adapter. Set up was straight forward, however I chose to place my pads differently than what is listed in the set up instructions. Matter of fact, I have moved them around many times and doing so is a breeze. Box was slightly damaged upon arrival, however the kit was well packed and performs well. If you are a pro drummer, sure, there may well be a better choice for you to make, if you are a beginner, and want to limit your initial investment, I highly reccomend this unit.
