Hi. This thing on? Yeah? Can you hear me in the back? Yeah? Good.
Okay, remember when I said back a little while (September of 2016) that Furry & Flo 7 was coming? And you were all like:Yeah, sure. And they’re going to make a sequel to Citizen Kane, too.
By no way am I comparing my work to that of Orson Welles’ masterpiece (which I found boring), I am here to tell you that through a number of obstacles I won’t bother you with, I finally (FINALLY) have Furry &
I lost my Grandma when I was 14. Almost 30 years later, I got her back.
Let me explain.
When I was a kid, I was pretty lucky. I didn’t need braces. I got along (for the most part) with my younger brother. I had parents that didn’t get divorced. I had a grandmother and a great grandmother. Nanny, my great-grandmother, lived in Rochester, MN. It’s a little big town a little bit further south in the state. We’d take trips to visit h
Hi. Thanks for coming by. I’ll make this short n’ sweet. If you’ve stumbled onto my blog having just (or at some point) finished reading FURRY & FLO: THE SOLEMN GOLEM (Book 6) and are wondering how it’s all going to end, you’ve come to the right place. If you’re one of the few people who actually reads this hardly-updated blog out of habit, welcome back. If you’re my parents (who I should call a lot more than I do), I’ll call you soon.
Here’s what I can tell you:
To say my youngest son, Jake (7), is a challenge is putting it lightly. Without getting into too many specifics, I’ll say this: He’s strong-willed, defiant, and doesn’t do well when he isn’t challenged. Jake has trouble at school with not listening, hitting other kids and just being (I’m sure in the eyes of his teachers and classmates) an occasional menace.
We see it at home, too. He needs to be asked multiple times to do things, puts up a fight when even the most si
Right. Good morning. So it’s been over a year since I blogged.
You know, it always feels like I’m going into a confessional like back when I was a Catholic boy anytime I RARELY post on this site. I feel like a bad friend for not blogging more and telling you what’s been happening in my world.
Seriously, though…I mean…it’s not like anyone is actually READING this thing anymore, are they?
Well, if so. Hi. This is the blog I’ve been dreading
No one wants to hear how busy you are. It’s become like the opening arguments for a trial you didn’t sign on to judge. I get it. There’s nothing more annoying (maybe not completely true) than hearing someone say: “Oh, man. Dude. It’s been crazy busy. You don’t even know.”
So, I’m not going to do it. Nope.
But let me tell you what I’ve been up to, okay?
Weird, right? An author guy has books to talk about.&nbs
Hey. Hi there. Hi.
So, today I did what I’m guessing is likely my last author visit of the 2013-2014 school year. I went out to a school in Mahtomedi, Minnesota (a cool 20 minutes from home) and talked to close to 300 kids. It was a fantastic time (like pretty much all of the visits I’ve done) but I gotta admit it was a little bittersweet.
I mean…seriously? The school year’s just about over? I won’t be able to do this again until fall?
So, kind of a strange day for me. I was busy updating some stuff on this dusty ol’ website. This included updating links to where people can buy some of my books and changing them from Amazon to the two different Capstone sites where my books are published.
As I got to the bottom of the list, I discovered something that made me get a lil’ bit melancholy:
PATRICK’S SUPER SOCKS is no longer listed.
Immediately I thought: Oh, wait. T
Hey guys. Okay, so it’s REALLY starting to feel like GO TIME down here in the Nerdery (my office). One of the first things I did (and was horribly late on) was give away an ARC of FURRY & FLO: THE BIG HAIRY SECRET. Here’s the video where I hastily (whilst wearing a hat) give away one of those “collector items.”
So Cate is the big winner! I know she’s going to put FF1 up on the book shelf with all of her Oprah’s Book Club selections. It’ll be
Remember how I promised that I was going to give away a free copy of FURRY & FLO – THE BIG HAIRY SECRET? Well, I’m going to, finally.
Yeah, I’m embarrassed it took this long, too.
Really. What’s gotten into me?
This is what’s up for grabs: A limited edition ARC (Advanced Readers Copy) of the first book in my new series. If you haven’t yet, you REALLY should check out the cool little book preview Capstone put out:
This little guy (al
