Jessie Bleu Gentry: Author’s Bio
Jessie Gentry is a former Criminal Justice insider who grew up in Southern California but now lives in the San Francisco Bay area. She holds a BA in Criminal Justice and an MA in Communications from a California University. Her lifelong interest in true crime goes back to her grandfather who was a small town sheriff in the Midwest and her father who was a homicide detective in a major city on the Eastern Seaboard. She likes to think of it as a family tradition and has amassed a large collection of files on several hundred people currently sitting on death row.
Jessie’s icon is true crime author Ann Rule and she likes to take the time to read actual court transcripts just as Rule does. She believes it makes for a more realistic story. Gentry bases her stories on true crime cases and facts, but fictionalizes a portion of the stories to protect the true identities of those other than the perpetrators, including law enforcement personnel. Gentry lives with her husband of thirty years and her two Jack Russell Terriers, Flynn and Molly just north of The City. She enjoys shopping for Vintage clothing, driving a restored 1957 T-Bird and trips to wine country.
