Paulo Roberto de Almeida is Ph.D. in Social Sciences (University of Brussels, 1984) and Master in International Economy (University of Antwerp, 1977). He is also a career diplomat since 1977. Besides his professional duties, has engaged in academic activities, in Brazil and abroad. Since 2004 is professor of International Political Economy at the Master and Doctoral programs in Law at the University Center of Brasilia (Uniceub), and visiting professor at other Brazilian or foreign universities.
Currently is Deputy General Consul at the Brazilian Consulate in Hartford, CT-USA. Prior to his current position, was Minister-Counselor at the Brazilian Embassy in Washington (1999-2003). Back to Brasilia, he worked for the Strategic Affairs Unit of the Brazilian Presidency (2003-2007), having also served in many other positions in Brazil and abroad.
Has authored many books in international relations, economic diplomacy, diplomatic history of Brazil, and regional integration; has dozens of contribution chapters in collective works, and hundreds of articles in academic journals, in Brazil and abroad.
