Format: Unknown Binding
I first read Michael Newton's book "Stolen Away", which is the story of the Marion Parker kidnap/murder carried out by William Edward Hickman. Then I read "In Defense of the Gray Fox", to compare. I would say that much in Newton's book he got from this book which was written in 1972. Much was from newspaper and court documents. The big difference was that Cantillon felt his client, Hickman, was innocent by reason of sanity. At the time of this trial (1927), this was a fairly new plea. Cantillon believed this to be the case with all his heart. So it is a biased account. He lost by the way--but it is still good reading of this sensational murder of the early 2oth Century.
