Due to the fact that I had myriad places to stash my knitting needles I could never FIND the pair I wanted or the tips for the circular cable or the fourth dp needle. I have changed all that by buying the entire selection of Della Q's Knitting Needle Cases. Here is how it changed my life:
I can put my hands on the correct needles when I start a project.
I can eliminate duplicates and get rid of shoddier versions of a needle set.
I can stop buying knitting needles and add to my stash!! : )
I highly recommend every single one of these needle cases. In your favorite colors. Striped or not.....
I have the short interchangeables from Knit Picks in addition to a small handful of circulars (for sweater sleeves and socks). Plus, a plethora of cables. I will note - the slots for needles are a TOUCH too deep for the short interchangeables. However, I stuffed a small bit of cotton into the slots, and now they are the perfect height. Plus, I like that my needles are going into cotton - it makes me feel like they'll be even better protected. I love that there are labeled slots for each size needle. I especially like that there are extra, unmarked slots. Perhaps, I would suggest a redesign of providing blank labels that I could write the size on for those slots, though? I was able to stick my small number of circulars into the various other slots without a problem at all. I also stuck a pen into one of the extra needle slots as I like to keep a pen in my knitting bag.
I do dislike that the slots for the cables are not labeled in any way. It's not a huge problem, but as the cables themselves ALSO are not labeled, I have to either measure or guess which cable is which. I tend to keep the smallest sized cables in the pockets closer to the smaller sized needles, but, it's not a perfect system. It would also be nice if those pouches zipped or snapped shut, just to keep them from sliding out (doesn't happen when it's closed up, but if I've got the case open, then I need to make sure not to drop it).
The little zipper pouch is perhaps a TOUCH smaller than I would like, but as I have the tagalongs notion case, as well, it really is not a huge deal. I put two sets of needle caps (one large, one small), a few stitch markers, and one package of cable ends and screw in there, and that's ABOUT all the space I have.
The quality of the fabric and the seams appears to be top notch. It's evident that a lot of thought goes into the designs. And bonus! The company donates a portion of their profits to teaching low income and rural Vietnamese women a craft.
All in all, I am EXTREMELY happy with this case. I loved it so much, in fact, that I just splurged and ordered myself a matching knitting bag to go along with it. I highly recommend this item.
