Customers have mixed opinions about the accuracy of the meters. Some say the meters are good panel meters for projects, showing consistent readings meter to meter. Customers have different experiences with the adjustment capability of the electric circuit testing device. Some find that the voltage and amperage are adjustable, while others say the trimpots are touchy and unstable, making precise adjustments challenging. The trim pots allow for minor adjustments, which may not allow for a true reading.

"Works OK but, the amps will only adjust within 10 milliamps of actual value. I checked with a reliable ammeter." Read more
Customers have different views on the display voltage. Some say it displays accurate voltages, while others mention it won't display amperage or current. There are also reports that the current doesn't display until it reaches 40mA, and some customers find the voltage reading inaccurate.
"...variant has a decent shunt on the ammeter side and calibration pots for both voltage and current. Not all variants have this." Read more
"...and Current adjustments on the back are a bit finicky, and the current won't display until it reaches 40mA, but I'm pleased with the overall quality...." Read more
"These came in a 5 pack. All display voltage , but will not display amperage. Noticed other comments about no amperage being displayed...." Read more

Usually great, just got one bad batch.

- Reviewed in the United States on November 24, 2024Color: Blue-GreenVerified PurchaseThese are a nice low cost enhancement to small electronic projects. Good display and easy to read. A bit odd since the negative is used as the current input so the load common is above the power supply common, but they work well for many applications. They work as described and show consistent readings meter to meter. Consider the accuracy to be a rough approximation rather than a precision measurement. Very satisfied.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 27, 2024Color: Blue-GreenVerified PurchaseIf you don't know how and why these can read voltage and amperage don't bother. They work perfectly...well, within reason. If you don't understand what a shunt is and are measuring under 5 or 6 amps, you're good to go. If you don't know what a shunt is and are measuring over 20 amps, buy a fire extinguisher also
- Reviewed in the United States on March 16, 2023Color: Red-BlueVerified PurchaseSo I buy these for work and for my own pet projects at home.
They work great, and for the price, are a great bargain.
Just pay attention to the wiring. They colors of the heavy wires are misleading if your barging ahead and assuming, and not paying strict attention to the wiring instructions.
None of my own shipments have every been problematic as far as the meters working.
This last shipment I ordered for work, of 2 packs of 5, were problematic, and the meters did not look like all the others.
In the past, the others were slightly different. But this set was very different looking.
Orders in Jan 2022 and earlier were great.
Order in late Feb 2023 was great.
Order in Jan 2023, had this bad batch, which looked very different.
That Feb 2023 bad batch, all did not work, and several smoked. The one I had here for testing, when powered with a lab supply with 12vdc, it drew 300ma, no display, and climbed quickly to 700ma, and I turned off the power. That meter was on it's way to releasing the magic smoke.
So look at the pictures. the one that says Bad (red text), was from the bad batch, all look the same in the batch. Comparatively to a good meter, it has nearly no components in the very middle of the PCB on the visible side of the PCB. And it has that table near center / bottom of the PCB , with 'HW" on it.
The other picture, is of a good working / tested meter. And all my good ones look similar, but with some minor differences in component layout.
So when the new order arrives, we will inspect and test, before waiting for a build.

- Reviewed in the United States on December 12, 2022Color: Blue-GreenVerified PurchaseOut of five meters, two of them showed accurate results, the other three showed smaller current values when compared to Fluke ammeter. Perhaps there is an adjustment pot on these meters somewhere on the PCB, but right out of the box three were not up to the spec. I chose the one closest to my multimeter readings. The display is good and well lit to be able to track both the voltage and current values.
Update: The seller reached me about calibrating voltage and current readings on these meters. The meters have two calibration potentiometer screws, one for voltage and one for current. So, you need to adjust them against a standard if your meter is off. So, I am upgrading the product to five stars.

- Reviewed in the United States on September 25, 2024Color: Blue-RedVerified PurchaseI recenly bought 10 of these for use on a couple of projects. While the voltmeter section worked well the ammeter section gave wild and usless results. In most cases I was reading 40+ AMPS when I had less then 2 amps going though the device. On some units I would see a low reading on the display even when no wires were connected to the shunt. On other units I would see 0.00 on the display until I had 0.25 or more amps going through the shunt and then the display would show much higher current values than what was actually going through the device. Two of the units read 0.00 amps until the current got up to about 1.00 amp then suddenly the display would jump to 2.00 amps and increase to 2.02 amps when the current though the device went up to 2.00 amps. One unit completly failed after 10-15 min of use. I'll put tape over the ammeter part of the display and use the remaining units when I want a voltmeter and look for something else to display current. A real disapointment but at least not total loss.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 2, 2024Color: Red-BlueVerified PurchaseI have added these meters to most of my DC power supplies and battery chargers. Bright display, less expensive than mechanical meters, smaller size too. Need better instructions. Hint: the NEGATIVE lead is where current is read from. I wish they made an outdoor use version!

At least these all powered on and displayed values.
3 of 5 units were faulty - with grossly inaccurate current values displayed
I have had much better luck buying suh meters from eBay
though there is a longer wait for the product,
at least they all work correctly.
DaveReviewed in Canada on August 7, 20231.0 out of 5 stars received items do not match images included in the description
Color: Red-BlueVerified PurchaseItems do not match images shown in the description. The shunt resistor is not an alloy wire. There is no trim pot for adjusting the current measurement. The current readings are always at least 20-30% higher than expected. The voltage reading only shows 2 digits instead of 3 when the measured value is less than 10 volts.
