This is quite different from what I usually read, which normally runs to serial killers and comedic private investigators. It had a surprising and very satisfying ending. I enjoyed the British words and phrasing. The writing was very professional, I didn’t notice any typos or misspellings, which seem to prevail in so many ebooks. I would be happy to read more of Mr. Carter’s work.

But I think it needs some editing, although I can appreciate the creative sentence structure, and wording. Maybe some punctuation might help? I’m only a reader but I noticed some sentences when I read them were awkward in the beginning and after that when I got further into the story I didn’t notice it as much.. or it got better or my brain was deceiving me.. wink wink my wavelengths got crossed lol. Anyways, I like the idea of paranormal activity and questions about consciousness that this story brought up.

Michael caught the vibe of the story and pulled the reader in for a thrilling ride (pun intended as you’ll see), read it in almost a sitting~had me going and riveted. Thing is, as a depth psychologist I work with the paranormal all day, but this psychic tale intrigued me ( hard to do). I was satisfied by the read and pleased by the surprising ending .

I thought this was a nice take on a character being a psychic. However, it was different and a bit entertaining trying to figure out how Claire and Angharad connected within the story. The story did not really pull me in as I expected. I can only imagine how Angharad felt being called into the light even though she may or may not be dead.

Very entraining story. I was expecting a gothic love story. But it isn't. Worth the read.

When Claire keeps seeing someone named Ann, as a clairvoyant she tries to get her to the light. Angarah (Ann) doesn't think she's dead and wants Claire to leave her alone.

Tremendous. Well written. Makes you believe you have control in your destiny. You need to read to understand. These books are worth your time, and your belief.

Really enjoyed this book, ordered the hamster one for my son 19, who has a hamster! Which is nothing to do with this book! The journey round Wales was very nostalgic, and it certainly left you as much confused about the after life as you might have been at the start of the book! And that's what makes it clever, it is not changing your mind, but perhaps reinforcing what you already believe! Confused? Read the book ...!!

An oddly enjoyable story, a little weird, but sometimes it's nice just to be entertained suspending your thinking mind and go with the flow!!

As a newbie to Michael Carter's books for a first read I thoroughly enjoyed it. If you love the paranormal and the afterlife this is an easy read in one sitting for myself with a great twist to it. Look forward to reading more from this author in the future.

Hooked from the first page, thought I’d worked it out but the ending took me by surprise. I love that it is set in Wales with the scenery, places and characters detailed so well you can visualise them. I cannot recommend this enough, my only sadness is I’ve finished it.
