Excellent! Revealing look at the true evil genius of the man who is responsible for the deaths (not to mention the rape and pillage) of more Americans than anyone in history. As with most things, follow the money and you get to the true root of most things, including why Lincoln and the Whig/Republicans would be satisfied only by a war of conquest and domination against the southern people.

Though pretty much a rehash of "The Real Lincoln", Dilorenzo's other book, for those who are unfamiliar with the real Lincoln and the real misnamed "civil war", I highly recommend it. It is well-documented, intensely interesting,sobering, and, yes, an easy read. It reminds me how important it is for us never to take things for granted. Double-check and do some of your own research. We must remember that the victors write the history we are required to read and accept. Don't merely blindly accept others' views on history or any other subject. Verify. This book stood that test. Dilorenzo's book is a gem. Truth, though sometimes painful and uncomfortable, is liberating. Buy this book!!!!

This book revealed a few nuances about the period and Lincoln that I did not already know, but it should have shown some or many excerpts of source material versus always paraphrasing and making reference. Especially at minimum the second Lincoln/Douglas debate transcript and emancipation proclamation should have been included.
