- Reviewed in the United States on March 3, 2013After completing this great book. It has been the education I have needed, to fill in the blanks of the extreme corruption in our financial markets as well as the government, that all of us need to be aware. The current IRS, Benghazi and attack on the AP with an overly-broad seizure of phone records ought to scare the living hell out of us all. Read this book, watch the unfolding drama in the Obama "no-drama" White House and then read my book, "Bank of Crooks & Criminals" which details how a cabal of small-town banksters and shysters robbed an old Marine of his life's work. But first, get a formal education on fraud and read Wayne Jett's book. THIS ONE. Read it and awaken to the slime and crime of the elite.
This book provides a better understanding of the manipulation of monetary policy, FDR's horrible economic policies during the Great Depression and the pillaging of the middle class are quite revealing. I am going to have to put everything else aside and finish Wayne Jett's book.
I have never found our nation's leaders to belong in the truth department, this book will not inspire you to have too much respect for them, those who have been in place over the last hundred years or as current events educate us, those in power now. Read it and make up your own mind.
Make it a personal goal to get five other people to read this book! I am.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 15, 2021Intensive review of competing economic policies and practices in the USA and the potential outcomes - Well worth the read and pertinent to our present day. The author is knowledgeable and highly versed in his subject. He describes the dangers of Keynesian application to our current governmental monetary system and its devastating effect on the middle class, bringing into question the very survival of our freedoms and economic success as a nation. A great but sobering read.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 24, 2019I'm only 20 % into this kindle book and am flabbergasted about what I really didn't know of the world economics and the controls it has from outside sources. This book is a mindblower if you really want to know the how and why of money and the controls and political decisions that either make us, the guy on the street, feel like like a pauper or a king. Very good historic and perspective read of money and power and what it means to us as a populace today. READ IT!
- Reviewed in the United States on December 19, 2011I found this book to be quite tedious and difficult to read. Some of the topics were overly repetitive. On the other hand the detailed information and linkage to historical events including those in 2008 are compelling. I don't agree with everything the author says. On the other hand if you believe the great depression and more recent events were randome effects of greed or complex economic factors you should read this book. Our country is and has been under attack and the enablers work for us in Washington DC.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 4, 2016Very informative although there were some missing years I thought were significant this book goes into detail about FDR and my suspicions that FDR not only made the 1929 great depression worst but he kept the great depression and the U.S. economic crash at the lowest point in American history for his whole administration with NO improvement pass WWII. He raided our national treasury to buy gold for his whole administration which took liquid assets away from the hands of the common man and gave it to his banker and financial friends. I can see similarities between what FDR did to the American economy to what Obama is doing to our American economy today for the past 8 years. From George Washington through George Bush, all the presidents created $10T of national debt over a 220 year period. Obama created $10T in NEW national debt in just 8 years along with his massive regulations, has kept put and kept our nation on its knees for 8 years now. He's also crated a whole lost generation of young people who's had none of the baby boom generation advantages of learning and working hard to create a great generation today.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 2, 2016I've read all the way through chapter 13. By the way, if you want to jump straight to the meat of the book and how it affects your lively hood today, then start at chapter 12. You can go back to the beginning when you are ready.
This is a fantastic book! I've read many expert books on this subject and this one is the best. If there is one book you want to read that will give you a convincing view of the history of graft and corruption in this country, then this is the book. Look no further. Buy it now and become enlightened, you will not regret it.
I'll update when I finish, just wanted to contribute something now for those trying to make a decision.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 2, 2023This is one of the most profound and essential books published in the US since the end of World War II.
Kudos to its author for his courage and brilliance in tackling such matter of paramount importance.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 17, 2017Our grandparents believed what they were told, with the knowledge/propaganda available at the time : that these periodic depressions are simply economic accidents. The truth is far different. Wayne Jett gives us the documented facts that paint a very different picture, a monumental achievement, putting into our hands all we, the people, need to put an end to the avidity of a tiny percentage among us who evolved all their skills of deception and fraud over centuries, with the aim of enslaving the rest of humanity, under them. If we don't like where our world is today, this book gives us the information we need to change the systems once and for all, and to make them work for the people, not against them.
